Coachella has published its lineup for its 2024 festival and Africa is ably represented with Nigerian superstar singer Tems, award-winning DJ, artist, and producer Spinall, and South Africa’s fast-growing emerging Popstar Tyla all making the line up.
Coachella 2024 will be headlined by Lana Del Rey, Tyler The Creator, and Doja Cat. The 6-day festival will feature performances from Peso Pluma, J Balvin, Lil Uzi Vert, Skepta, Jon Baptiste, Ice Spice, Lil Yachty, DJ Snake, and other musicians.
Nigerian music singers have been a regular feature at Coachella since 2019, when Burna Boy notoriously chastised the event for printing his name in small font.
Seun Kuti and his Egypt 80 Band, who have been nominated for Grammys, performed at the festival in 2020.
CKay graced the Coachella stage in 2022, and Burna Boy returned to the stage as one of the top supporting performers in 2023.
Tems and Spinall are slated to perform at the 2024 Coachella festival, joining the ranks of Nigerians who have graced the iconic stage.
