BBNaija Star Groovy Accuses South African Singer Tyla of Song Theft

Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) contestant Henry Orakwue, also known as Groovy, has accused South African artist Tyla Laura Seethal of intellectual property theft.

Groovy is a reality star, singer, and sports pundit.

On Saturday, the musician took to his X page to accuse Tyla of copying his song ‘On My Way’ on the South African’s upcoming hit ‘Truth or Dare’.

Groovy uploaded a clip from his project, claiming that the South African musician did not obtain his permission before allegedly stealing his tune.

“Hi Tyla, your new song sounds so much like my song ‘On My Way.’ Your team didn’t clear with me on that,” he wrote.

Tyla is, however, yet to respond to the allegation.

Groovy participated in the BBNaija season 7 edition titled ‘Level Up’.

During his time on the reality show, he kept people talking about his relationship with Phyna, the season’s ultimate winner.

Their romance, however, came to an end following the reality show.

Groovy stated that he and Phyna were mismatched in their relationship. The reality star went on to say that fans exacerbated their disagreements by making various charges online.

Tyla, on the other hand, is a well-known South African singer and songwriter. Born and bred in Johannesburg, the 21-year-old signed to Epic Records in 2021 following the success of her debut single ‘Getting Late’ in the United States.
