Nigerian Singers, Burna Boy and Tems dazzle at 2023 Met Gala

Tems and Burna Boy were among the megastars in attendance at the 2023 Met Gala, which was a star-studded meeting of the fashion world.

The Met Gala is probably the year’s most anticipated fashion event. The yearly event brings together the world’s biggest personalities from the film, television, and music industries.

This year’s event, which celebrated the life and work of late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, was held in New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The star-studded guest list had Rihanna, Serena Williams, Jennifer Lopez, Lil Nas X, Rihanna, Lizzo, Tems, Gabrielle Union, Dwayne Wade, and Billie Eilish in attendance.

Others include Naomi Campbell, Ice Spice, Taika Waititi, Cara Delevingne, Margot Robbie, Keke Palmer, Lily Collins, Kim Kardashian, and Florence Pugh.

Nigerian artists were not left out of the brilliance and opulence that flooded across the red carpet on Monday.

Burna Boy looked majestic in a matching Burberry black and blue checkered ensemble, complete with a cape-like extension sweeping behind him.

Tems Robert Wun’s most recent signature design comprised a black corset-like top, a flowing regal white skirt, and elbow-length gloves.

It is expected that Nigerians would be seen for the first time at the prestigious fashion event.

The Met Gala is an annual fundraising event held in New York City to benefit the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is the official opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion show.

The invitation-only fundraiser hosted about 400 guests.
