Grammy: Nigerian Singer, Burna Boy Loses All Four Nominations

Damini Ogulu, also known as Burna Boy, was nominated for four Grammy Awards but did not receive any.

The artist’s song ‘Alone’ lost to the song ‘Pashto’ by Zakir Hussain, Bela Fleck, and Edgar Myer, which won the Global Music Performance category.

The Nigerian singer lost his second award, this time in the Best African Music Performance category, which was won by South Africa’s female rapper Tyla.

Her song ‘Water’ beat out Burna’s ‘City Boys.’

Third on the list was the Best Melodic Rap Performance category, won by American rappers Lil Durk and J Cole.

Their song ‘All My Life’ was rated higher than Burna Boy and 21 Savage’s ‘Sittin’ On Top of the World’.

Burna Boy lost his fourth nomination for Best Global Music Album.

His ‘I Told Them’ record and David Adeleke’s ‘Timeless’ album both lost to Shakti’s ‘This Moment,’ a World Fusion band, respectively.
