A Nyeri male was arrested by police for shouting at Governor Nderitu Gachagua and also interrupting his occasion at Dedan Kimathi Kamukunji arena.
The seemingly intoxicated man crawled undetected to the event and began shouting at the governor claiming he was his advocate.
County askaris were unable to arrest the man forcing other security guards and orderlies to intervene and carry the man to a waiting police vehicle.
Governor Gachagua was about to address more than 3,000 residents who had turned up for 2016/2017 budget validation exercise.
The governor asked for the microphone and ordered the security guards to unchain the man, calm him and leave him alone.
However, the man became more unruly and was carried to the police vehicle.
Members of the public tried to block his arrest but the security guards said they were not taking him to the police station.
The man said he was a youth leader as he accused the governor of neglecting the youths.
