ODM Governors Want Direct Nomination In 2017 Polls

ODM Governors want direct nomination in the 2017 General Elections, they have told party leader Raila Odinga.

Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma has said that he and other leaders from Luo Nyanza want the nomination so that they can be able to complete second terms which they deserve as they have been on a learning curve as regards devolution.

they deserve the tickets on grounds that devolution is still new, a situation which made them to serve for a short time while undergoing learning on how the devolved system works. “Devolution was new and were still learning technicalities involved hence we deserve a second chance,” said Rasang

Together with Cyprian Awiti (Homa Bay) and, Jack Ranguma (Kisumu), they now want to be exempted from competition with their opponents in the party primaries.

He added that they deserve the tickets on grounds that devolution is still new, a situation which made them to serve for a short time while undergoing learning on how the devolved system works.

“Devolution is new and we are still learning technicalities involved, hence we deserve a second chance,” said Rasanga.

Whether CORD leader Odinga will agree to the proposal remains to be seen.
