Nicki Minaj Becomes Playable Character on ‘Call of Duty’

Nicki Minaj, the Trinidadian-born rapper, has joined ‘Call Of Duty’, the popular video game series, as a playable character.

The rapper was unveiled on the first-person shooter video game via a tweet on Thursday.

“The Barbz have entered the battlefield,” the post reads.

“Get pink with the @Nickiminaj operator bundle now available in the Call of Duty Store.”

The rapper’s operator bundle includes a special loading screen, the “Nicki Whip” vehicle skin, and “Super Freaky” weapon blueprints among others.

Shortly after the announcement, Minaj wrote on X: “Dear Barbz, Today we make history. History books will say that the HARAJUKU #BARBIE was the first female celebrity made into a character on @CallofDuty”.

“I am so honored. So HAPPY. It was such a pleasure working with the #COD team. Let’s show TF OUT!!! Love, HB.”

The development follows the tradition of ‘Call of Duty’ featuring notable figures in their games.

Celebrities like Idris Elba, Ice Cube, Gary Oldman, Jimmy Kimmel, Michael Keaton and George Romero have all had cameo appearances on ‘Call of Duty’ in the past.

Minaj rose to prominence following the release of her debut album ‘Pink Friday’ in 2010.

Despite announcing her retirement from music to focus on family in 2019, she astonished fans by revealing the release date for her upcoming album in June 2023.

This new project, planned for release in October, might also be her first under her own record label, Heavy On It, which she announced earlier this year.

She also broadened her scope by signing four artists to her label: Nana Fofie, Tate Kobang, Rico Danna, and London Hill.
