A man has been arraigned in a Narok court charged with failing to protect his teenage girl from early marriage.
The father of the 16-year-old girl, Memponye Letura appeared before Narok Senior Resident Magistrate, Allan Temba Sitati, charged with subjecting the girl to early marriage on April 5, 2016 at Emurua Mpopong area in Narok North Sub-county.
He denied the charges and was released on a bond of Shs50, 000 with one surety of similar amount. The case will be heard on May 20th 2016.
The girl was rescued by human rights activists together with police officers who later arrested the accused person who had gone underground.
