A man allegedly stabbed his girlfriend with a pair of scissors at a hair salon in a Johannesburg shopping centre, police said on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old man was arrested after he injured himself by jumping from the second floor of the mall while trying to run away after the stabbing on Monday, Warrant Officer Xoli Mbele said.
During an argument with the 18-year-old woman in the store, he allegedly stabbed her several times. It was not clear in which mall the incident had taken place.
The man and woman were taken to hospital. The man was under police guard and expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
