Lawmakers Accuse Kogi Governor Of Fuelling Assembly Crisis

Factional members of the crisis ridden Kogi State House of Assembly, known as “G15 members” have accused Governor Yahaya Bello of fuelling the crisis rocking the Assembly.

But the executive arms said reacting to the accusation of the group would amount to elevating its status, saying its earlier position of not having hand in the Assembly remained sacrosanct.

The group dismissed insinuations that the Deputy Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the last November Kogi Governorship election, James Faleke, was its sponsor.

Speaking with newsmen at the house of the embattled Speaker, MomohJimoh Lawal, the group said they were not going to relent in their battle as doing so amounted to surrendering to alleged Governor’s impunity.

Spokesperson of the group, Kolawole Matthew (Majority Leader, said, “As G15 who are opposed to the purported impeachment of Speaker- MomohJimoh Lawal by G5, what we collectively resolved to fight is the height of impunity in the process and the dangerous legacy it may bring where five members as against the 15 members under the dictate and protection of the executive, will announce the impeachment of the Speaker.
