Agha Khan Signs Healthcare Deal With Murang’a Government.

The Agha Khan University Hospital has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Murang’a County Government on improving healthcare services in the County.

Governor Mwangi wa Iria said the deal allows medics employed by the county government to train at the University to improve and stimulate health services.

The training, he explained, will also seek to inculcate skills on modern health technology to the health workers and particularly in specialized healthcare.

“This MOU provides a platform for Murang’a to learn from the Agha Khan University Hospital expertise, build capacity and additional training on medics currently working with the Murang’a County by this University,” said Wa Iria.

He added that medical students from the university will practice in the county hospitals and in turn have exchange of ideas and expertise.

He said the county will send a team of doctors to Agha Khan Hospital to gain specialized skills and get exposure on medical services.

The deal was signed by the governor and Aga Khan CEO Shawn Bolouki who said the deal will allow the Aga Khan institutions get directly involved with the local community.

He said the partnership will also assist the institutions to implement one of its visions of capacity building.
