Operatives from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) have confirmed the arrest of three more suspects in the abduction of three girls from the Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary in Ikorodu, Lagos.
According to security officials, the additional arrests come as a result of preliminary investigations revealing that the three men provided food for the girls during their six day ordeal, Punch has reported.
“Three more suspects were arrested at the weekend in different hotels in Lagos. We tracked them through the network providers and they have confessed to being the ones cooking for the girls and ensuring that they did not escaped. They told us that they fed the girls with noodles. The suspects also informed us that they had attempted to kidnap the girls twice in the past but succeeded in their third attempt,” said an operative who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Police had initially made three arrests in the case, claiming that they had nabbed one suspected gang member and two accomplices behind the kidnapping.
The prime suspect in the case, identified as Emmanuel Arigidi, has since disclosed that 11 men in total were involved in the operation.
