Members of Mau Mau War Veterans Association have called on the opposition leaders to stop intimidating and manipulating the Independent Electoral.
Led by the splinter group national Chair Mr Elijah Kinyua aliasGeneral Bahati the freedom fighter urged the opposition to engage IEBC amicably and according to set constitutional requirements.
Speaking in Nyahururu town Today, General Bahati said that the opposition was playing politics which could lead to chaos by inciting Wananchi to storm into the commission’s offices.
“What the opposition is doing is very dangerous to a country that is still healing from election violence. They should engage the commission in the right way instead of playing politics which could cause chaos,” he said.
He at the same time called on IEBC not to take instructions or directions from anybody or succumb to pressure in discharging its mandate.
“IEBC is a constitutional commission and therefore it should not take direction from anyone. Howeverit should engage and involve the public and all players in its process and decision making,” he added.
