CORD leader Raila Odinga has postponed his tour of western Kenya. But why?

The CORD leader was to head to western Kenya this week to seek the mandate of the people as he tries to earn a first win in the 2017 presidential election race.

Western Kenya has been a key point for the CORD leadership which is seeking to unite the region ahead of the 2017 polls.

Odinga though has postponed the tour and according to sources, he wants to do the tour after President Uhuru Kenyatta has done his.

“It all has to do with the President’s tour. He will be in the region next week and Raila wants to go there after he does,” the CORD source told News24.

The President will visit western Kenya from Tuesday 30 August.

It is expected that Raila will start his Saturday 3 September.

“ He should start on Saturday but it is yet to be confirmed,” the source added.

Raila has been traversing the country in recent times seeking to combine in his strongholds and trying to get in more support in Jubilee Coalition zones.
