Nairobi – Police have killed a gunman and arrested an associate along Nairobi’s Jogoo road.
The gunman was shot dead near Mtindwa estate after he was ordered by Police to surrender but instead opted to open fire on the officers Wednesday afternoon.
His colleague was also shot and injured but arrested by Police and taken to hospital.
The incident attracted a large crowd of onlookers.
” This has been an eventful day. We killed two and lost an officer in Dandora on Tuesday evening and now this incident. We will continue to fight crime hard,” Nairobi Police boss Japheth Koome told News24.
It is believed that the one shot dead was a member of the gang that had earlier killed the policeman and had been trailed by Police all Wednesday.
Police recovered a pistol from the dead suspect.
