A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State on Tuesday suspended the former governor of the state, Attahiru Bafarawa for alleged anti-party activities.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Assistant Secretary of the party in the state, Shehu Danyau Sirijalo, a copy of which was made available to journalists in Sokoto.

He accused the former governor of running the party as his personal estate and creating disharmony within the ranks of the party for his selfish interest.

Sirijalo cautioned the Chairman of the party in the state,  Ibrahim Milgoma, to distance himself from the former governor or face the wrath of the members.

“The PDP chairman should henceforth distance himself from Bafarawa, because this move is meant to bring sanity to the party that has been destroyed by the former governor.”

Other party members who signed the statement include the PDP Women Leader in the state, Hajiya Kulu Rabah and 10 others.
