The Caretaker Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has agreed has to work with Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, reports NewsDay.
Makarfi on Tuesday said he would obey the position of the law in the on-going crisis rocking the party now that Sheriff has taken over the national secretariat of the party on Monday to affirm his authority as Chairman.
Sheriff had on Monday taken over the leadership of the party according toNews 24.
Makarfi, who was appointed Caretaker Chairman of the party at the Port Harcourt convention said he was not fully briefed on details about crisis in the party and the status of Sheriff.
He stated that if he knew that there was a court order empowering Sheriff as the Chairman, he would not have taken the position.
He said his interest is to see that PDP did not disintegrate.
He said if the court ruled that Sheriff is Chairman of the party, he will all follow him.
