ODM Spokesman Philip Etale Sent Stern Warning To Wetangula

A senior aide working for ODM leader Raila Odinga has issued a stern warning to Ford Kenya Party LeaderMoses Wetangula after the CORD co-principal called on Odinga not to vie in the 2017 elections.

Philip Etale, who is ODM’s Communications Director, said that the remarks made by Wetangulka were irritating and aimed at undermining the authority of the ODM Party Leader.

On Sunday, Wetangula, who is also the Bungoma Senator, called on Odinga to step aside and support any of the two co-principals since he had taken a stab at the Presidency several times and failed.

“In many instances, the king maker is actually in a better position than the king himself,” Wetangula said when pleading with Odinga to endorse him.

In a statement issued on his Facebook page, Etale went on to lecture Wetangula on why Odinga will and should be a presidential candidate.

A part of Etale’s statement read: “First he MUST know that Mr. Odinga has sacrificed a lot to reach where he is today….unlike some political parties, ODM is the biggest and commands a lot of support across Kenya”.

Etale went on issue to launch a seemingly personal attack at the Bungoma Senator: “…urging Raila to retire from politics by someone calling himself a co-principal in CORD is itself a sign of cowardice and immaturity in politics”.

The tone and choice of words used in the statement has added on to the speculation that Odinga may have decided to go it alone in the 2017 Presidential election.
