Believe it or not, Kate Henshaw turned 47 on July 19, 2018. The on-screen character who looks ever-enduring was conceived in 1971 and to celebrate her, newsofafrica has curated a portion of her photographs.

Kate: The beginning

The eldest of four kids, Kate was born in Cross River State. After completing her primary and secondary education in Lagos and Calabar, she spent one year at the University of Calabar reading remedial studies. She later majored in Medical Microbiology at the School of Medical Lab Science, LUTH. She also worked at the Bauchi State General hospital.
Nollywood beginnings

According to Wikipedia, Henshaw auditioned for the lead role in the movie When the Sun Sets and was handed the role in 1993. This was her first appearance in a major Nollywood movie. She has gone on to star in over 70 movies. In 2008 she won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for the film Stronger than Pain.

Kate Henshaw was not seen as someone overweight or needing exercise but she has embraced the fitness lifestyle wholeheartedly. Fitness brands have already begun to notice and some have gone into business with her.
