At least 10 people are afraid of death in Taraba State after a fresh wave of violence erupted on Friday.
According to a Premium Times report, residents disclosed that violence broke out after 2 am when a member of the Shumo ethnic team allegedly attacked a Wurkum youth.
The attack then sparked a reprisal, leading to houses being razed and innocent residents being killed.
Jospeh Kwaji, PR Officer for the Taraba State Police, confirmed the development but denied the number of fatalities involved.
“Some suspected Shumo youth invaded and attacked Didango village.”
“Two people were killed,” Kwaji said.
Eleven houses in the area are also confirmed to have been reached.
