Jubilee Hatch Plan To Oust Munya In 2017

It will be an almighty battle for the Meru Gubernatorial seat come 2017 with the Jubilee Party backing Senator Kiraitu Murungi to contest the seat against incumbent Peter Munya.

It is understood that Munya, who has dissented on the Jubilee Party will compete with Kiraitu who has been fronted by President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto to kick down Munya come 2017.

After efforts to make Munya see the light failed, Kiraitu has been pushed forward to compete with Munya which will be an almighty battle come the 2017 polls.

By virtue of being one of the minds behind the to be formed Jubilee Party, Kiraitu will more or less win the ticket while Munya who has yet to announce his vessel of choice will be left to look elsewhere.

CORD leader Raila Odinga has lately been trying to woo Munya.

” Kiraitu will stand for the Governor’s position come 2017 to give Jubilee as high a chance of winning as possible,” a source in the party told News24.

Kiraitu himself on being asked of the matter stated that there is a possibility he will.

” Nothing is impossible. I am still talking to the right people then we will announce what next,” he said.

Munya on the other hand is already feeling the effects of snubbing the Jubilee coalition.

President Uhuru Kenyatta snubbed the just ended devolution conference in Meru and on the final day of the conference invited Meru leaders to State House to sign a deal to hand Miraa farmers a KES 1 billion to the dismay of Munya and organizers of the conference.

It is just the beginning of what is set to be an intriguing time with the 2017 elections just around the corner.
