Machakos Governor, Dr. Alfred Mutua has insisted that he will dump the Wiper Party ahead of the next general election.
Mutua who spoke in Nyeri County on Sunday said he will leave the Kalonzo Musyoka-led party and is instead shopping for the next party ticket before next year’s polls.
He said he fears that his Wiper Party might rig him out in the nominations adding that the leadership of the party is unstable.
The Governor at the same time dismissed rumours that he will vie for a higher seat terming the rumours as unfounded.
He said that he is now busy serving Machakos people adding that it is not yet time to think higher positions.
“I will not engage in stupid, backward and retrogressive politics. These are outdated politics. It’s time for change,” he said while speaking in Nyeri on Sunday.
“I will not work with political leaders who are just empty politicking instead of focusing on development. I will not play politics as my people are suffering,” he added
Mutua also defended the recent State House visit saying he must support the government of the day.
“Those accusing me of supporting the Jubilee Government must know that I’m supporting it in order to get resources and money for my people. I don’t want to serve poor people but rich people,” he added.
