President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Ibrahim Kpotun Idris as the new acting Inspector General of Police.
Idris is an Assistant Inspector General of Police who once led the Kano state police command.
He was earlier in a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in company with the outgoing IGP, Solomon Arase.
The duo arrived at the villa at about 2.20pm on Tuesday.
Idris understandably hails from Niger State.
