Nigeria: We Are Not On Strike – Trade Union Congress President Says.

The Trade Unions Congress (TUC) has distanced itself from a nationwide strike to set to take place today under the aegis of the National Labour Congress (NLC) and the Joint Action Force (JAF).

According to the Daily Post, TUC President Bobboi Kaigama has confirmed the organization’s position, claiming that “TUC is not on strike”.

Despite calls for further commentary, Kaigama has yet to release any further statements on the issue.

Leadership reports that Stand Up Nigeria has commended the move, along with a coalition of 50 other organizations, with the group claiming that the decision is in the best interest of the bigger Nigerian population.
