Monaco registered their second win since the opening day of the Ligue 1 season as they edged out Ajaccio 1-0 on the Island of Corsica.
Fabinho’s first half penalty separated the sides, after skipper David Ducourtioux was adjudged to have handled in the box.
Ajaccio almost equalized in the 78th minute when Issiaga Scylla forced Monaco keeper Daniel Sub sic to make a save.
This was Monaco’s fist league game since selling 19-year-iold forward Anthony atrial to Manchester United.
The win pushes Monaco to 8th position with 8 points out of 5 matches played so far. PSG are top of the table with 13 points.
The result is also a boost for Leonardo Jardim’s side ahead of their UEFA Champions League meeting with Anderlecht on Thursday.
