Nairobi – Kalenjins are being mislead by Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto, a leading lawyer has said, urging support for Deputy President William Ruto.
Lawyer Donald Kipkorir says that the Bomet Governor is not good for the hopes of Kalenjin people and that they are better off supporting the DP.
He says that the fact that other Kalenjin leaders have ganged up against the DP shows that there is something sinister with their motives.
” It is for this that I call on the Kalenjin nation to rally behind H.E William Ruto. We must protect him from those that may want to destroy him or his power. He is the pre-eminent and the only leader of the Kalenjin nation. Kalenjins have a sacred duty to protect and support him,” he said.
Ruto has been facing serious rebellion in the Rift Valley and has been fighting to ensure he regains his footing in the wake of the huge fight from Ruto as well as KANU.
The DP is set to know whether his popularity is intact in the March 7 Kericho By elections.
Many Jubilee Coalition supporters have defected to KANU and stated that they will support their candidate Paul Sang for the seat.
