Nairobi – A shootout involving five gang members and three police officers in Dandora area claimed two lives, reports The Star.
A police officer and one of the gang members were killed after a shoot out began when they noticed they were being trailed.
“The officer was in the company of three others who were pursuing a gang that had been attacking and robbing pedestrians at a bridge,” said a surviving officer.
The other four gang members are now on the run but police managed to get a hold of the pistol that killed their colleague.
The killing of the police officer comes not long after another officer of the law was shot dead by three armed robbers, reports The Star in another report.
Nelson Mwadine was shot down while escorting a lorry transporting maize to Diani.
