Two middle aged men have been accused of forging premium insurance documents in trying to dupe Nakuru county officials.
Martin Nzumbua together with Laban Ngunjiri allegedly masqueraded as Old Mutual Insurance sales persons and altered premium contribution forms in duping three county officials, in a bid to compel them to give monthly contributions to the company.
Joyce Towett, Rose Akinyi and Jeff Waro who are county officials were to part with a sum of KES 30,000 but they became suspicious and reported the matter at Central Police station where investigations were launched on the matter.
The two fraudsters who appeared before Chief Magistrate David Kemei on Monday were released on KES 100,000 bond pending hearing of the matter.
The case was set for hearing on October 11.
