President Muhamamdu Buhari is expected to meet with the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidates for the November 20 election in Abuja ahead of Saturday’s primary election, reports Guardian
The meeting is to ensure a rancour-free governorship primary in the state.
An earlier meeting convened by the national secretariat of the party last weekend, failed to assuage the bickering as many aspirants have vowed to resist any imposition.
There has been tension in the party in the state following accusations that one of the candidates of the party has been endorsed by the national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu according to News 24
The state Chairman of the party, Isaac Kekemeke was removed because of this accusation.
Members of the party also engaged each other in a gunfight following Kekemeke’s removal.
All the 25 aspirants have been invited to attend the meeting with Buhari.
The meeting is expected to hold either on Monday or Tuesday.
