The Kikuyu cultural council of elders has come out to assure Deputy President William Ruto that his 2022 presidential bid support from the Kikuyu community is still intact and guaranteed.

The council said that the Kikuyu community is committed to honoring the election MoU signed between the deputy President and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The elders said that nothing will stop the Mount Kenya community from helping Ruto to get to the house on the hill after President Kenyatta retires.

Speaking Wednesday in Nakuru town led by Zakayo Maina, they called on Ruto not to be worried about their support because he will get it.

“We agreed with our Kalenjin brothers that we will support Ruto in 2022 after the tenure of President Kenyatta is over and nothing will change that. We want the DP to know that he has our support come 2022,” said Maina.

“The Kikuyu 2022 support for the deputy President is more than guaranteed and nothing will change that,” he said.
