Ababu Namwamba and other Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) rebel leaders will lose their seats in the 2017 polls, former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Farah Maalim has said.

Speaking Tuesday on local TV, Maalim said that the leaders used to be elected because of the support that CORD leader Raila Odinga enjoys in the region.

“The rebel MPs will not come back to Parliament. Watch this space,” he said.

The former Lagdera legislator said that Ababu should not have resigned but instead should have fought within the party.

“Power cannot be given to you in silver platter. Ababu should have desserted his place in the party,” he added.
