Gunmen on Monday evening killed the youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) identified as Sunny Omokaro, in Ward 4 in Ikpoba-Okha local government area of Edo State, reports The Nation
The incident took place at the Ikpoba-hill area of Benin City about 9pm at his wife’s shop.
Sunny was said to be relaxing in his wife shop after returning from a political meeting they held when some men numbering about four ram into the wife’s shop.
The gunmen, who were suspected to be armed robbers, had forced their way into the shop in order to escape arrest by some policemen, reports Punch
Omokaro was said to have told the robbers to leave his wife’s shop
The men brought out their guns and shot the youth leader in the chest.
The victim was said to have died before he could receive any medical treatment at a hospital.
The police commissioner, Chris Ezike has confirmed the incident.
