Former Bauchi State Governor Isa Yuguda Accused Of Mismanagement, Made To Pay Back N700M.

Former Bauchi State Governor Isa Yuguda has been ordered to pay back N700 million to the state after he was found guilty of mismanagement.

According to a Naij report, a committee set up by current Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar found that Yuguda and his former permanent secretary Abdu Ilelah discovered that the pair had spent over N700 million on security for which acknowledgements and certificates could not be ascertained.

In addition, former state accountant general Adamu Gokaru, former auditor general Abdu Aliyu, as well as Ilelah are set to be sanctioned for gross misconduct upon the discovery that they had awarded contracts at the State Universal Basic Education Board in the sum of N110 million.

Governor Abubakar has since lamented the large amounts of money alleged to have been spent on security in a state that is not currently at war. He has also stated that those who have been implicated in corrupt dealings will be given a fair chance to clear their names.

Abubakar has since given his assurance that all due processes will be followed in order to ensure that all stolen funds are recovered by the state Government
