CORD leader Raila Odinga is planning a constitutional coup, a Jubilee MP has said.
The Majority Leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale says that Raila and his CORD coalition is planning to hijack the Constitution by forcing out IEBC Commissioners but that it will not work out.
He urged CORD to use constitutional means to deal with the issue.
” This is akin to a constitutional coup,” he told News24 Monday.
The CORD Coalition made a demonstration to the IEBC’s offices Monday where Police fired teargas at the Opposition leaders to keep them from storming in to remove commissioners.
Duale said the correct means for disbanding the IEBC is provided in Article 251 of the constitution.
” They cannot look to use lawlessness to effect such an important body and not expect the government to protect it,” he stated.
