CORD leader Raila Odinga has called for countrywide mass action against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision IEBC Tuesday May 2 2016.

After being rebuffed using teargas Monday at the IEBC headquarters in Nairobi after trying to force their way into the premises to supposedly eject IEBC Commissioners, Raila now says that next Tuesday the mass action will take effect all through the country to have the IEBC officers move out of office.

” There is no negotiation. We want to see them gone and gone completely,” The CORD leader stated Tuesday in Nairobi.

He called on CORD supporters next week to create their own destiny by ensuring the IEBC does not return to office.

” The country deserves a better electoral body. This one is a state house machinery and we will not accept to have it in place for the 2017 elections,” he added.

The CORD coalition has pledged violence in the country if President Uhuru Kenyatta wins the 2017 polls by virtue of winning an election run by the IEBC.

On the other hand, Jubilee coalition members state that CORD should use the Constitutionally agreed means to eject the IEBC and not street protests.
