A group of northern youth has asked Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State to apologise for his previous comments that no Chibok girl was missing,Vanguard reports.
The youth under the aegis of North East Youth Peace Development and Empowerment Initiative (NEYPDEI) called on the governor to tender an unreserved apology for his comments.
Fayose had claimed that the rumour of the abduction of the Chibok girls by the Boko Haram sect was mere political fabrication meant to dent and oust former President Goodluck Jonathan from the office at all costs.
The group criticized the governor for playing politics with human lives and described Fayose’s antics as diversionary.
Naij reports that Kyari Idris Abubakar, the president of NEYPDI, commended the military over the rescue of Amina Ali, one of the missing Chibok girls.
Abubakar advised Fayose to provide quality leadership to the people of Ekiti state, instead of making statements that mislead Nigerians.
