Mzansi Viewers Choice Awards (MVCA) is a new and hot platform created by M-Net’s Mzansi Magic (DStv 161) channel to honour the best in the South African entertainment industry.
The prestigious awards show which will take place on 26 August, will be done as a live broadcast on Mzansi Magic in conjunction with DSTV.
About the Mzansi Viewers Choice Awards
The awards will be handed out under 10 different categories. Subsequently, viewers get to vote for their favourite celebrity from the worlds of acting, music, sport, comedy and others.
The nomination list for the inaugural DSTV Mzansi Viewers Choice Awards (MVCA) were announced on Tuesday afternoon in Sandton, Johannesburg. High profile personalities including Themba Ndaba, Amanda Black, Anele Mdoda, Masasa Mbangeni, Kwesta, DJ Zinhle and Caster Semenya were among those nominated for awards.
The event will be hosted by TV personality Bonang Matheba who was also nominated in the “TV Presenter” category, alongside Thembisa Mdoda, Robert Marawa, Pearl Modiadie and Phat Joe. Bonang also hosted the nomination party.
How to vote
WeChat, SMS and USSD are the various channels through which South Africans can vote for the celebrity of their choice.
On WeChat, you can add ID mzansimagictv and vote up to 100 times for free. Nonetheless, data charges apply.
Viewers can also vote with SMS by sending a SMS at R1.50 with the number in the brackets next to the name of each nominee. Notably, SMS votes are limited to 100 votes.
Additionally, viewers can also vote by making use of USSD. To vote through USSD, send the nominee keyword (for instance 1A, 2A), using *120*33033#. Votes are limited to 100 votes. No charges are applicable here.
