The planned countrywide tour planned by FORD Kenya leader Moses Wetang’ula is a waste of time, an ODM MP has said.
Jakoyo Midiwo, who is the Gem MP and a fervent supporter of CORD leader Raila Odinga, says that he is confident the flag bearer for the coalition come the 2017 elections will be Raila Odinga.
He argues that Wetang’ula is not anywhere close to popular enough to be the flag bearer for the coalition.
“We need a popular leader with a national outlook and that leader is Raila Odinga. The rest are not close to him,” he said.
Wetang’ula is planning a countrywide tour in August to sell his Presidential ambitions come the 2017 elections.
He will set his presidential agenda on the tour, as explained by Tongaren MP Eseli Simiyu.
“The tour will see the party leader go around the country on a meet the people tour where he will get the chance to explain his plans for the country,” he stated.
Wetang’ula is seeking the backing of the two other principals; Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka to see him take on President Uhuru Kenyatta come the 2017 elections.
