More than two months after the death of late Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Barr. James Ocholi (SAN), President Muhammadu Buhari has failed to replace him.
The failure of Buhari to find a replacement for Ocholi meant that Kogi State is yet to have a replacement in the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
Ocholi, who hailed from Dekina, in the eastern part of the state, died alongside his wife and son in a ghastly motor accident which occurred on March 6, 2016 along the Kaduna-Abuja road.
There is no word yet from the Presidency on when a new minister would be appointed to replace Ocholi.
Since Ocholi’s death, there have been intense lobbying by prominent politicians in the state to replace him.
Six top politicians are in the race to replace the late Ocholi in the Federal Executive Council.
The six politicians belong to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
They are James Abiodun Faleke, Sani Halilu Shuaibu, Suleman Baba Ali, Muhammad Abdullahi, Sen. Nuruddeen Abatemi Usman and Hajiya Hadiza Ibrahim.a
