The community of Oshakati in Namibia was recently left perplexed after three school children, believed to be cousins, started slithering like snakes and channeling the voice of a known villager in the area.
According to New Era, one of the children, a 12-year-old boy, started behaving strangely after killing a snake two years ago.
The other two, aged 15 and 16, were said to have begun behaving “erratically” on Thursday last week.
Community members flocked to the Emono Combined School to witness the bizarre incident, which they linked to witchcraft.
They accused a woman who lives in the area of conducting a suspected ritual that led to the children’s affliction.
Incidents of witchcraft are not new in Namibia, with News24 reporting recently that a clay pot, believed to be witchcraft paraphernalia, caused a stir in the informal settlement of Havana after it was found outside a resident’s house.
