Johannesburg – The body of a man was found in a water canal next to the R53 outside Potchefstroom in the North West, on Monday morning, paramedics said.“ER24 paramedics were called to the scene by the Saps, and on their arrival, they found the patient lying on the bank next to the Saps vehicle,” ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.
“Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had been dead for some time.”
It is understood a member of the public saw the body floating in the canal. It was pulled from the water by police prior to the arrival of emergency services.
“The cause of the incident is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations,” Meiring said.
