A man and his daughter in central Zimbabwe reportedly teamed up to attack her husband with an axe after a misunderstanding, reports the Chronicle.
Tavona Chimbochashe, 58, from a small village in the Midlands province, appeared in court facing charges of assaulting his daughter’s husband, Anyway Mutsvotsvi.
The court heard that, on March 15, the victim went to his father-in-law’s homestead to ask his wife Runesu Mubatsiri to breastfeed their two-month-old baby, whom she had left with him following a dispute.
However, on arrival, he was told that if he wanted to get his wife back, he had to apologise and pay Chimbochashe some money.
But Mutsvotsvi refused, resulting in a scuffle. His wife grabbed him from behind, while her father allegedly axed him on his left leg.
Mubatsiri was reportedly still at large as the trial continued.
