United States Warns Nigerian Of Terror Attacks On Lagos Hotels

Abuja – The United States on Tuesday sent a strict caution to migrants and also international site visitors in Lagos, asserting that a risk of feasible strikes impends for those marking Eid el-Fitr parties.

According to a Punch report, the US Mission to Nigeria took to their website to spread the news, while claiming that attacks could take place at hotels and waterfronts visited by expatriates during the religious holiday.

“The US Mission in Nigeria advises that groups associated with terrorist activities might be planning attacks on hotels in Lagos frequented by international visitors, including those located on waterfronts, during the Eid-el-Fitr holidays,” the United States Consulate  Nigeria  said in a statement.

The warning, which was not specific, stated that this is one of several warnings previously issued to expatriates frequenting certain locations.

The US Missions has since requested that foreign visitors review their safety plans, remain aware of their surroundings and monitor local news stations for any possible updates.

Security has been tightened in Lagos since the announcement, with security officials monitoring top hotels and airports for any suspicious activity,
