A UDF MP says that he will attend the launch of the newly formed Jubilee Party in Nairobi on Saturday.
Lamu East MP Shariff Athman says that he is no longer a part of the opposition coalition and that he is ready to shift his allegiance to the Jubilee side.
He argues that staying in UDF represents zero chance of improvement of the lives of his people.
“I will be in Nairobi. Yes,” he told News24 on phone.
Athman argued that staying in the opposition was of no help to him and his people and that he wanted to see development in his County as a whole.
“As you can see, other leaders in Lamu have already joined the Jubilee Coalition and I will follow them in doing so,” he added.
The move represents a huge win for the ruling coalition which has been making waves in the Coastal region in recent times.
