Kenya: Two Arrested With Donkey Meat In Mwea

Police in Mwea, Kirinyaga County have arrested two people ferrying donkey meat on a motorbike.

Area OCPD, Titus Yoma said the two were arrested at Thiba area heading to Ngurubani Township to sell the meat to unsuspecting butcheries and consumers.

Yoma said the suspects were locked up at Wang’uru police station awaiting court trial.

He urged locals to avoid consuming uninspected meat or meat has no stamp from Public health officers.

The donkeys were allegedly butchered in an unknown place after being stolen from local rice farmers who use the animals to transport rice to the market and for fetching water.
