Turkish prosecutor: ISIS ordered Ankara attack

Istanbul – The Islamic State extremist group ordered the Ankara twin suicide bombing that killed 100 people this month, a Turkish prosecutor said on Wednesday.

The attack was planned by a cell in Gaziantep, a southern Turkish province near the border with Syria, under orders from the extremist group in Syria, according to a statement from the Ankara Prosecutor’s Office.

The announcement is based on digital data the prosecutor’s office obtained. More information is being deciphered.

The Ankara attack, the worst in modern Turkey’s history, hit a peace rally on October 10 which was organised by leftist groups and pro-Kurdish organisations.
