Olwethu was wearing a blue denim skirt, a long-sleeve striped T-shirt and black pumps. Anele was wearing blue denim shorts and a red T-shirt, and Asanele navy-coloured trousers, a yellow T-shirt, and black shoes.

Police opened a missing persons case on Saturday, spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Novella Potelwa said.

The case was brought to the attention of the Social Development Department as the children were living with a foster mother. They had biological relatives living nearby, said Potelwa.

This was not the first time that they had been reported missing.

Western Cape Social Development Department spokesperson Sihle Ngobese said they were not yet aware of the matter, but would look into it.

Anyone with information about the siblings’ whereabouts could call Sergeant Marajh at the Stellenbosch police station on 021 8095114 or 082 3794869, or Pink Ladies at 072 214 7439.
