Three mourners have died following a fatal road accident involving a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) they were traveling in along Othaya-Kiria-ini road.
The vehicle veered off the road and crashed landing near a swamp at Chinga dam.
One of the mourners is said to have lost her life at the scene of the accident while two others died at Othaya Sub-County Hospital while undergoing treatment.
The rest including the driver of the vehicle are nursing serious injuries in Kiria-ini Mission and Nyeri Referral hospitals.
The mourners in the 14-seater matatu were heading to Kangema from Nakuru where they were to attend the burial of one of their own when the accident happened.
According to an eye witnesses, the vehicle that was moving at a high speed failed to negotiate a corner at Chinga area after which it hit and ripped off guardrails, rammed on trees before falling into a ditch.
