Karlsruhe – Investigators in Berlin and the eastern German state of Saxony searched several premises on Tuesday to take action against a suspected terrorist ring, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office said.

Three individuals were suspected of planning attacks in Germany and founding an unspecified terrorist group, triggering the raids.

One of the suspects is believed to have recruited for the Islamic State extremist group.

No one was taken into custody.

Investigators said the group is believed to have planned bombings in Germany with a first attack planned in Berlin.

A search conducted in October did not yield any findings, and the raids on Tuesday were meant to allow authorities to search the spaces again.

No further details about the suspects or search locations were available.
