Senator Emmanuel Anosike has resigned his membership to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
According to a Naij report, Anosike announced his party resignation through a letter directed to Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, national Chairman of the party.
Anosike has explained that his decision was spawned from the state of the party in Anambra, saying that the PDP needs enlightenment and educated people within its leadership.
In addition, Anosike has blamed the party’s defeat in the 2015 elections on acts of alleged sabotage by chieftains within the PDP.
According to the Senator, the party’s troubles started when the election of unpopular candidates for primary elections was condoned, adding that Governors could not help deliver their candidates and caused the party’s failure as a result.
“I believe it (PDP) needs a rebirth or renewal with enlightened and educated persons at its leadership the leadership rein.
“This leadership has to operate at the points and levels that political parties in other parts of the civilized world operate,” Anosike said.
